African American/Black TaskForce for Student Success: Closing the Achievement Gap for Black Students

Graduation rates for Black students lag significantly behind the San Jose State University average. Little is done institutionally to address the achievement gaps of these students. While ignoring the need for aggressive academic support and intervention the University focus on "diversity and inclusion" centers around tolerance and citizenship. The Task Force addresses both.
