SIG 7 - Yes, It Is Possible to Assess Learning Outcomes at Research-Intensive Universities!
This Special Interest Group brings together assessment, academic, and administrative leaders charged with leading outcomes assessment efforts at large research-intensive universities. We will explore how we can honor and leverage our histories and missions to create sustainable, learning-centered practices that promote student learning and improve academic programs. Possible topics of discussion include: leveraging the research culture for assessment; engaging research faculty; addressing common challenges, such as supporting assessment efforts across diverse disciplines and with large undergraduate and graduate enrollment. Participants are encouraged to bring tools, strategies, and success stories to share, as well as questions they’d like the group to address during and after the meeting.
